One of the advantages of living in Upstate New York is the vast amounts of natural beauty to behold every season. From the scenic leaves changing color in the fall, excellent skiing season in the winter, and the endless outdoors activities in the spring and summer, some additional highlights of Upstate New York include:

  • Letchworth State Park (Castile, NY): Known as the “Grand Canyon of the East,” there are 3 incredible waterfalls to behold in Letchworth State Park (and you’ll definitely see some gasp-worthy rainbows glimmer before you).
  • Yaddo Gardens (Saratoga Springs, NY): Sitting on a 400-acre estate that dates back to the early 1900s, Yaddo Gardens is an artists’ community with gardens dotted with carefully crafted sculptures and intoxicating rose bushes.
  • McGregor Vineyard (Dundee, NY): When you thinks of wine, your first thought isn’t always New York (or their second or third, for that matter). However, you’d be surprised by the quiet quality of wines that comes out of McGregor Vineyard.
  • Whittaker Falls (Martinsburg, NY): One of Upstate New York’s best kept secrets is nestled in a seldom-visited town called Martinsburg. At the end of Whittaker Park, you’ll find a waterfall inside a waterfall… that’s inside another waterfall.
  • Rainbow Falls Bridge (Watkins Glen, NY): 19 waterfalls are featured in this bridge that’s tucked away in Watkins Glen State Park. The 200-foot cliffs are sure to make your pulse quicken, but be forewarned: show up early before all of the tourists have arrived for the best experience possible.
