TECO – West Central Florida

AP.Power.PrimaryIcons.RGB.Black

Over 385,000 residents calls Tampa their home (over 2 million in the surrounding metropolitan area), and with good reason: There’s the endless nightlife in Tampa party district, Ybor City, the flawless beaches that are open year-round, opportunities for water sports in Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico, and an excellent quality of life that is unique to Tampa. Tampa also features a number of one-of-a-kind cultural activities, like The Florida Aquarium, the Busch Gardens amusement park, Big Cat Rescue, the Tampa Theatre, Tampa Electric’s Manatee Viewing Center, Lowry Park Zoo, and many more activities. For these attractions and many more is why Tampa and the surrounding area is consistently rated as the best place to live, year after year.

Serving the energy needs of West Central Florida since 1989 is Tampa Electric Company (TECO). TECO’s extensive service area covers 2,000 square miles, including all of Hillsborough County and parts of Pasco, Polk, and Pinellas counties, and supplies more than 725,000 residential, commercial and industrial customers across the state. Because of this, TECO has made sure to address environmental concerns and how it generates its power, included in the company’s regularly published sustainability reports. Additionally, TECO has supported clean energy, particularly in regard to its solar energy programs.

According to the United States Energy Information Administration, which collects state-specific data, Florida has a number of interesting facts concerning the state’s energy mix and consumption. First, thanks in large part to Florida’s year-round sunshine and energy efforts, the state is only 1 of 4 U.S. states with utility-scale electricity generation from solar thermal technology. And of these 4 states, Florida is the only participating state east of the Rocky Mountains. Furthermore, Florida accounts for almost 8% of the U.S.’s biomass-fueled electricity generation (more total energy produced than any other state except California).

How does Arcadia Power help me pay my TECO bill more efficiently?

When you enroll in Bill Pay, Arcadia Power will receive your TECO bill and we will send you one statement. This makes how you pay TECO bills easier.

However, if you aren’t enrolled in Arcadia Power’s Bill Pay program, you will continue to receive your TECO utility bills Additionally, if you receive separate utility bills for gas, water, or sewage, those bills from your TECO (and other utilities) will continue to come in the mail.

If you’re curious, here’s how the process works:

1

Your TECO bill is sent directly to Arcadia Power.

2

We email you a statement that includes your utility bill charge, your clean energy and overall energy usage, and savings credits or charges from any Arcadia Power programs you are enrolled in.
